Happy New Year to all our friends!

Dear Friends of Langrish House

2016 was a happy and very busy year. We had lots of ‘Outside’ Weddings in the Old Bothy, overlooking the slopes and the lake. IF the weather had been kinder we would have had even more!

We have also had a large number of Silver, Golden and even Diamond Wedding Celebrations. For those of us so often sharing in the start of a marriage, it is wonderful to see so many people celebrating long lives together.

Frederick’s restaurant continues to flourish under Head Chef, Nathan Marshall’s accomplished hand. He very much enjoys visiting other top drawer restaurants to keep himself up to date.

There is now a Yoga Class based here, we have had visits from many Car Clubs, a group of ex Fencers, and shooting parties from the continent. Never a dull minute!

Nigel celebrated a significant birthday. It was very special to be surrounded by so many friends and relations, in the house where he was born and with our grand daughter, who is the 8th generation of the family to live here.

In November we hosted the Langrish Village Christmas Fair, arranged superbly by local residents, which has now replaced the annual Summer Fete. We also hosted the Lights of Remembrance in aid of The Rosemary Foundation, Hospice at Home, which is our chosen charity.

While closed in the first part of January we will be restoring the Drawing Room to its original size. This will mean removing the partition wall between the Drawing Room and the adjoining bedroom. We are excited about this project and look forward to
unveiling it.

2017 is 100 years since the death of Edward Thomas and 200 years since the death of Jane Austen. Both authors lived near Langrish so we hope to see lots of people coming to the various commemorations.

We have a full and varied programme of events for 2017…

Wishing you a very happy New Year,
With best wishes from us all…
Nigel, Robina and the team.
